Research projects / Development projects
Hamburg teacher education uses scientific concepts and findings as inspiration for the further development of curricula and training programs in the first and second phase of teacher education. Researchers at Universität Hamburg and the 4 public universities – Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Hamburg University of Music and Theatre (HfMT), Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK), and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) – strive to acquire funding for such inspiring projects.
Funding for a major current project was acquired by Universität Hamburg within the framework of the Quality Initiative Teacher Education: In the project "Professional Teachers´ Actions to Promote Subject-Based Learning under Changing Social Conditions" (Professionelles Lehrerhandeln zur Förderung fachlichen Lernens unter sich verändernden gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen (ProfaLe)) more than 30 research associates are developing and investigating teaching opportunities which support the integration of knowledge acquired in the teacher education programs.
This project builds on numerous successful studies in which scientists from Universität Hamburg were involved, e.g. Teacher Education Study in Mathematics (TEDS-M) and the state research cluster Linguistic Diversity Management in Urban Areas – LiMA.
